Have the Right Equipment
Prior to starting work, make sure you have all the necessary tools and equipment, which should include:
- Tile cutter – Essential for square cutting,
- Adhesive trowel – To apply an even amount of adhesive.
- Mixing buckets – For grout and adhesive.
- Tile Spacers – Small plastic items that ensure the gaps between the tiles are uniform.
- Grouting trowel – To apply the grout.
- A spirit Level – To keep the tiles square and level.
Working Methodically
The tiles should be installed one at a time, and starting at the centre of the wall will ensure that the small cuts are in the corners. Applying the Grout

It is important to remove excess grout before it goes hard, as removing it will be much harder after it sets.
